This is why I do not understand the fanaticism around professional sports. It is not “your” team. They are not “your” players. Teams are not locally owned. Players are not from where they play and have no loyalty to the people who are loyal to them. I mean, I understand a love of watching the beauty of sport. I’m a lover of the Olympics, for example. But, I don’t really root for anyone, I just enjoy the skill and talent of it. Sports are cool and impressive, I get it. What I do not get is how people get so worked up over “their” team. It’s just a bunch of people getting rich, they don’t care about you except for your money. They don’t even care about your money, specifically, they want anybody’s money.
