So, I heard a story on PRI the other day about a big puppetry festival in Tehran called the Tehran International Puppet Theatre Festival. This is such a war-torn area of the world with so many troubles, yet they have the time and effort to produce a puppetry festival. This is the fifteenth! How awesome is that? In the middle of all this strife, puppets!
I look at this and see how they are embracing the arts and culture, not only despite their troubles, but as a relief from them, and I wonder how we cannot do the same? How do we not have a fabulous puppetry festival? It is one of the oldest forms of theatre and popular in many cultures across the world. If they can do it, why not us??? via Facebook
