You know, I’m not really a fan of all these cooking contest shows. There are so many of them. You put the people into a kitchen with the best ingredients and top of the line cookware, and yeah, anything they make should be amazing.
What I would love to see would be the “Real Life Cooking Contest”. You get a rundown, tiny kitchen with busted-ass cookware. You get the cash equivalent of a low-wage working with a family of four. And then let’s see the chefs make something amazing out of that. That way, at least the recipes that resulted from the contest would be relevant to most people.
Actually, I think that would be a fun fundraiser. Who would pay to see something like that? Top level chefs competing using what everyday people use. Then we all get a tasting. via Facebook
