#ProTip You all remember the old aphorism, “Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for life.” Kind of sounds good, does it not? Except that is not quite right, is it?
What happens when you teach a man to fish and then send him to a barren pond? No matter how amazing a fisherman he is, if there are no fish, he cannot catch any, can he?
Of course, there are a number of other considerations, that apply as well, but this is a fundamental problem with that saying. Be wary of those old aphorisms that simplify complex problems. via Facebook
