NEW RULE: It is no long cool to gloat about working a billion hours a week. Sure, maybe a year or two of it IF you are getting your startup going, but not 6, 10 or more. Life should not be like that. It is not okay that people have to work so much harder these days to make a decent living. Working 100 hours a week is not a sign of accomplishment. I was always told, “work smarter, not harder,” and that is such an insulting saying because it says you are working stupid, and it does not address the “how”, but it was RIGHT. It took me a long time to figure that out, but I finally did. #ProTip So, if you are working 60+ hour weeks more than 2 years in a row, you are not “hustling”, you are doing it wrong. Stop. Think about how you can do it differently. Why are you working too hard? If you cannot figure it out, do like I did and find someone more experienced to take an outside look at it.
